Best Answer: Note that the installer for Snow Leopard may not run on Macs that were released sometime after OS 10.7 (Lion) was introduced in July 2011. However, that does not necessarily mean Snow Leopard will not run on these Macs, just that the installer won't work. I also have software and drivers that must run in Snow Leopard, and not in later versions of the Mac OS.

In 2012, I purchased a refurbished 2011 iMac with Mountain Lion installed. When I tried to install Snow Leopard from the Snow Leopard DVD to a fresh partition, the installer would not work. However, when I went to an older iMac, created a partition at least 10GB in size and installed Snow Leopard to that partition, then created a DMG of that partition and restored it to a partition on the new iMac, Snow Leopard worked flawlessly.
