Will my Macbook Pro mid 2012 work with Mac OS X Snow Leopard? Purpose: ProTools 8 and Adobe Premiere.

Need to know: I have Yosemite on partition too I am trying to install Protools on my Macbook Pro and I have already used the disk utility to partition my solid state Hard drive. I have a DVD with Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I a certain this OS works with the version of Protools that I'm using.

I tried to extract a.dmg image file to point to my 'Snow Leopard' partition and cannot acquire the.dmg (ISO file). I'm sure it's on the Snow leopard disk, but I cannot extract it. I am using Protools 8, is Maverick compatible? I also have adobe premiere.

I recently upgraded to Yosemite. Unfortunately, most of the programs I use do not work with this Yosemite. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, -Ben- • Asked by fn from Red Lion • Apr 18, 2015. Best Answer: Note that the installer for Snow Leopard may not run on Macs that were released sometime after OS 10.7 (Lion) was introduced in July 2011. However, that does not necessarily mean Snow Leopard will not run on these Macs, just that the installer won't work. I also have software and drivers that must run in Snow Leopard, and not in later versions of the Mac OS.

In 2012, I purchased a refurbished 2011 iMac with Mountain Lion installed. When I tried to install Snow Leopard from the Snow Leopard DVD to a fresh partition, the installer would not work. However, when I went to an older iMac, created a partition at least 10GB in size and installed Snow Leopard to that partition, then created a DMG of that partition and restored it to a partition on the new iMac, Snow Leopard worked flawlessly. I used the retail version of Snow Leopard. You should be able to do the same thing with an external drive.

If you will buy this expensive setup i grantee you will work in after effects as a pro. But according to their budget they are confused, that which configuration is best for them. Mac system requirements for el capitan In my opinion i will suggest to buy an 7th gen Intel Core i7 Processor, with Nvidia Geforce GTX1080 Graphics Card, 32GB of RAM with 32mhz Speed and a SSD as a primary drive.

Go to older Mac, install Snow Leopard to the external drive, then connect external drive to new Mac and start up the new Mac while holding the OPTION key. Select the partition on the external drive that has Snow Leopard installed and see if your MacBook Pro will start up from the Snow Leopard partition. The partition Snow Leopard is installed to must be formatted as 'Mac OS Extended (Journalled)'. My Mac is multiple boot. I have about half a dozen different start up partitions with either Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion on each, with various software setups that I use for experimentation, and to use software that won't run in another version of the OS. • Answered by Ewald W from Vancouver • May 4, 2015.
