I have 2 issues: • I have been trying to get the right numbering in a previously created linked table of content. After the third header the numbering is not correct anymore and I didnt manage to get it to work, maybe someone can advise me in how to do this (I tried changing the numbering in the table, in the modify section of the header and in the text header itself, nothing worked).
• I then thought to copy the whole document in a new document without the hyperlinked titles/headers as I was table to delete the TOC but the titles remained hyperlinked. I then wanted to create a TOC from scratch assigning the different sections with the tiltes to different headers. Unfortunately every time I try to assign the headers to certain styles word crashes. I think you're referring to headings, which is the text that begins a chapter, section or topic. An automatic Table of Contents is normally based on styles. Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3 styles are most often used as heading styles that also connect to a table of contents. The numbering you refer to could be page numbers, or it could be numbering applied to the heading styles. Please tell us which one you mean.
