Hi there, I have the al85 and the screen has stopped working but it still fires so I want to upgrade the firmware to see if that fixes the screen issue. (No it's not in stealth mode and no the screen isn't broken as it has come on once since it went dead but only for a moment.) I've downloaded your file but my question is, what should it say in the Setting boxes, the ones titled 'Config 0: 0x' and 'Config 1: 0x'. I can select either: Last config - Config 0: 0x [FFFFFF7F] and Config 1: 0x [0001F000] OR On-chip config - Config 0: 0x [FFFFFB7C] and Config 1: 0x [00013000] Can you please tell me which one you used to successfully update the firmware on your al85? Thanks heaps! Thank you for the bottom of my heart.
I thought I lost my Al85 forever. I found this so wrong in so many levels.
First of all, the firmware goes through despite being for another chip, apparently bricking your AL85. Second of all, they don't have any recovery whatsoever on their website making this file available at least to get back to the original version. And the whole take out batteries, poke around with hexadecimal values and infinite little flags and unrelated things the tool has. And to add isnult to injury, my hand hurts by doing all these attempts trying to grab the firing button. It's as if they made a contest to see what was the worst way possible to make a vaping device firmware with the most user unfriendly updating ui as possible. Other than this is a pretty solid device and I'm happy, but I don't think I'm going to ever bother trying to upgrade again as they don't seem to have their thing pulled toghether for firmware upgrades.
